Career Pathways in Public Health Laboratory Science
The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) partner to offer a variety of laboratory fellowship programs to train and prepare scientists for careers in public health laboratories. When we say “public health laboratory” we mean local, state and territorial government laboratories focused on protecting the public’s health. That includes laboratories performing human, environmental, animal and food testing to monitor for and detect health threats. Fellows will work on projects specific to a laboratory science focus area that will support public health, One Health, and other initiatives.
