Medical Affairs Intern (Summer 2025)
Overview
At scPharmaceuticals, we are focused on exploring, developing, and commercializing innovations that will expand and advance the outpatient care of acute conditions. Our goal is to provide targeted solutions for patient populations and disease states where outpatient management will have the greatest impact. The Medical Affairs Internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to intern’s field of study or career interest, providing an opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills. This role reports to Manager, Medical Affairs & PV.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of scientific communications plans and materials, including scientific posters, abstracts, and slide presentations (including those utilized by the field based medical affairs team).
- Conduct literature searches and assist in the development of scientific content for medical education initiatives.
- Assist in the development of medical information responses to inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients.
- Support in the management of drug safety databases and tracking of adverse events and product complaints.
- Assist the Medical Affairs Contact Center (MACC) in the execution of their daily tasks
- Respond to day-to-day requests, provide information and advice, and ensure that issues are adequately addressed
- Deliver work product through established processes, systems, and procedures, ensuring work standards and requirements are met
- Develop own professional expertise through on the job training and observation
- Assist managers with department objectives
- Participate in special projects as requested, such as Furoscix launch related MA needs
- End of internship presentation
Required Expertise Competencies:
- Preferred candidates will be those in a graduate level pharmacy (PharmD) program, however, undergraduate pharmaceutical science/nursing applicants may apply
- Clinical pharmacology, therapeutic acumen and medical knowledge of disease (especially HF) is desirable
- Strong Office 365 skills are a must, including powerpoint and MS word
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

Expectations:
- This position is hybrid with a minimum of two days per week in Burlington, MA office, between Tuesday and Thursday. Additional time in the office could be required as circumstances dictate.
