Personal Branding Statement Worksheet

Your Personal Branding Statement is defined as a “brief statement that summarizes what you do, why you do it, and what differentiates you from others in your field. “ In other words, it’s your unique selling proposition.  Your statement is typically between one to two sentences, and should be attention-grabbing, compelling, and memorable (10 Effective Personal Brand Statement Examples–With Tips).

Your Personal Branding Statement also defines your career identity, which relates to the unique professional reputation that you promote to others.  It explains what you do best, why you do what you do, and is typically solution-oriented.  A strong Personal Branding Statement consists of four parts:

  • EXPERTISE—The expertise that you provide to others.
  • BENEFIT—The advantage that your target population receives from your expertise.
  • TARGET AUDIENCE—Specifically who you provide expertise for.
  • QUALIFICATION—The background and factors which make you uniquely qualified.
