A Partnership in Career Readiness

At WGU, we recognize that ensuring career readiness and successful outcomes for our learners is a shared responsibility. Career & Professional Development (CPD) is just one of many spaces where career conversations happen, and we deeply value your partnership and commitment to supporting career development. Together, we can better serve every student one-by-one. We thank you for achieving together, as we help every WGU learner on their pathway to opportunity.

Faculty and staff play a pivotal role in shaping students’ career pathways, especially when advising on career options and job or internship opportunities. Research, such as the National Alumni Career Mobility survey (NACM), highlights that faculty engagement can significantly influence student career outcomes.

Expanding Access One-by-One

To ensure that every WGU learner has access to vital career knowledge and resources, CPD has launched the Career Champion Program. The goal is to empower faculty and staff to become career advocates and champions, enabling them to better support learners in navigating their career journeys, making informed decisions, and achieving their professional goals.

  • Resources & Support: Gain access to a wealth of resources, including articles, workshops, and tools designed to support our WGU learners in growing and navigating through critical career milestones in their career journey.
  • Networking Opportunities: Join a network of like-minded professionals from various schools and departments, providing you with valuable opportunities to expand your connections, collaborate, and grow within the WGU community.
  • Leadership Development: As a Career Champion, you’ll be empowered to bring your newfound knowledge back to your team, department, or school, where you can share best practices and foster a culture of career development.
  • Impactful Mentorship: Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by mentoring them through Career Milestones, guiding them in aligning their academic pursuits with their career aspirations, and helping them achieve their professional goals.
