Job Description
Position Summary
The Epilepsy Foundation’s Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on professional experience while contributing to the Foundation’s mission and working alongside professionals across the organization.
Interns are placed within participating departments based on the internship opportunity selected during the application process. Each internship offers department-specific projects, responsibilities, and learning objectives designed to provide practical experience, professional development, and exposure to working within a national nonprofit organization.
Candidates will have the opportunity to review the available internship opportunities and select the position that best aligns with their academic background, interests, and career goals.
Program Details
Program Length: 12 weeks
Departments: Human Resources & Neuroscience Research
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: 20 hours per week
Work Hours: Internship hours must be completed between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Location: Remote
School Schedule: Candidates will be required to submit their current school schedule during the application process to assist with confirming availability.
Internship Experience
Throughout the 12-week program, interns will gain practical experience within their selected department while developing skills that can support their academic and professional goals.
In addition to department-specific responsibilities, interns will participate in professional development opportunities offered through the Internship Program, including a mock interview session designed to strengthen interviewing skills and prepare interns for future career opportunities.
Eligibility & Program Requirements
Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and have an interest in gaining professional experience within a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
Successful interns should demonstrate:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professionalism and accountability
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and collaborate with others
Ability to consistently work the required 20-hour weekly schedule
