About the Role
TBD Investors is seeking a Clinical Research Intern to support research initiatives across our healthcare portfolio.
The intern will work with clinicians, company leaders, and investment professionals to study clinical practices, patient outcomes, access to care, and opportunities to improve healthcare delivery. Projects may span pediatric therapy, physician practices, and other healthcare services businesses.
This opportunity is designed for someone interested in clinical research, medicine, public health, psychology, or allied health who wants to see how research can inform decisions and improve care across growing healthcare organizations.
What You’ll Work On
Conduct literature reviews on clinical practices, treatment approaches, patient outcomes, and emerging healthcare research
Summarize peer-reviewed studies and translate findings into practical recommendations for clinicians and company leaders
Research evidence-based practices in pediatric therapy, primary care, specialty medicine, and other areas relevant to our portfolio
Help develop research questions, study protocols, surveys, interview guides, and data-collection plans
Analyze de-identified clinical, operational, and patient-outcomes data
Assist with quality-improvement initiatives focused on access, clinical outcomes, patient experience, safety, and continuity of care
Research clinical guidelines, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
Help benchmark outcomes and clinical practices across locations and provider groups
Support projects examining patient wait times, treatment adherence, provider capacity, and barriers to receiving care
Assist with Institutional Review Board materials, data-use documentation, and research compliance when applicable
Help prepare research summaries, presentations, white papers, and educational materials
Identify opportunities to standardize and improve clinical protocols across growing healthcare organizations
Work with physicians, therapists, clinical leaders, operators, and outside research partners
Contribute to special projects involving healthcare policy, clinical compliance, population health, and new models of care delivery
Who Should Apply
We welcome applications from undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates studying:
Biology or health sciences
Pre-medicine
Public health or epidemiology
Psychology, neuroscience, or child development
Biostatistics or healthcare analytics
Nursing
Occupational, physical, or speech therapy
Healthcare administration
Other clinical or research-oriented disciplines
Strong candidates will have:
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
The ability to evaluate scientific literature critically
Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
An interest in clinical research, healthcare delivery, or patient outcomes
Comfort working with quantitative and qualitative information
Sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information
The ability to communicate scientific findings clearly to nontechnical audiences
A practical mindset and an interest in turning research into measurable improvements in care
Prior clinical, laboratory, research, or healthcare experience is helpful but not required.
