A Riipen micro-internship is a short-term, project-based experience that connects you with real employers.

Unlike traditional internships, which often last several months, Riipen micro-internships typically involve completing a specific project, usually 40–60 hours of work over 4-8 weeks, offering flexibility and focused skill development.

Eligibility varies by program. If you are in an eligible program, Career & Professional Development will email you directly with specific eligibility and application information as opportunities become available.

Compensation may depend on the opportunity. Please review the email with micro-internship details.

The companies offering projects through Riipen are typically small to mid-sized businesses, non-profits, startups, and mission-driven organizations tackling real-world challenges.

Projects vary based on employer needs and will be pre-approved by WGU to ensure alignment with your curriculum and skill development.
